The past few days, I received a few questions about my new series of Watercolour launched last weekend (link in the bio)
1. Why is this collection in watercolour instead of oil? You usually paint in oil.
I was inspired by the soap bubbles I have been blowing for the past weeks as a mindfulness exercise, and I wanted to make the paintings water-based like to bubbles. I chose watercolour because the pigments diluted in the water flows to one another, create movement, and create its own pattern. A bit like the bubbles: you blow them, but then they have they move and float on their own.
The bubbles represent emotions and emotions are not simple, they merge, they change, they 'pop'. It’s about acknowledgement and letting emotions go.
