Have you noticed the horses throughout the theming of the Boardwalk @waltdisneyworld before?
Yes, there’s definitely a vintage seaside amusement park feel to the resort, with the carousel and white wooden roller coaster models in the lobby, and the pool bar and water slide being themed to those same attractions. But if you look at the mural on the side of the carousel themed pool bar, Leaping Horse Libations, you’ll see one of my favorite parts of the resort- the connection to Sonora Webster.
Her real life story of running away from home during the Great Depression and ultimately becoming a “diving girl” is depicted in the 1991 Disney movie “Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken”.
My sisters and I watched this movie on TV (probably on the Disney Channel) when we were kids, and it felt so special to stay at the Boardwalk this spring with one of them and experience it together. She even rented the movie for us to watch one night on her phone!
Have you seen Wild Hearts before? If you have a stay planned at the Boardwalk, I highly suggest watching it before you go! #makeyourownmagic
